Introduction

This Privacy Policy is developed by Rural Connect Limited in compliance with the Nigerian Data Protection Regulation 2019 and other similar regulations. It is also a demonstration of our commitment to financial regulations and personal information collection of our clients.Our Client in this instant is an Investor, Project Owner, and/or persons directly or indirectly participating in RuralConnectFinance window.

For the limited instances where personal information is collected either automatically or volunteered by client, the following constitute our undertakings in handling such Personal Information.

Collectable Personal Information

When you use any of our services, we collect information manually or automatically sent to us by you, your representative or generated in the course of business. Such information includes but is not limited to:
• Personal/ Organisation information;
• Financial interest and investment;
• the date and time (with time zone) of a website visit;
• information you provide us including but not limited to information on project or investor's form, event information, email, phone number, organization you represent (where necessary) and correspondence with our support services. We may also collect information about your transactions, enquiries and your activities on our operation;
• information provided by third parties like social media sites.
However, Information that is provided by other sites are not controlled by us and we are therefore not liable for how they use it.

Personal Information Protection

We store and process your personal information on our computers in Nigeria. Where we need to transfer your data to another country, such country must have an adequate data protection law. We will seek your consent where we need to send your data to a country without an adequate data protection law.
We protect your information using physical, technical, and administrative security measures to reduce the risks of loss, misuse, unauthorized access, disclosure and alteration. Some of the safeguards we use are firewalls and data encryption, physical access controls to our data centers, and information access authorization controls.

Third Party Disclosure

We generally do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer to outside parties your personally identifiable information unless we provide you with advance notice. This does not include website hosting partners and other parties who assist us in operating our website, conducting our business, or servicing you, so long as those parties agree to keep this information confidential. This Privacy Policy is made pursuant to the Nigeria Data Protection Regulation (2019) and other relevant Nigerian laws, regulations or international conventions applicable to Nigeria. Where any provision of this Policy is deemed inconsistent with a law, regulation or convention, such provision shall be subject to the overriding law, regulation or convention.

Business/ Investment Risk

Investment Methodoly: Asset Allocation

Active Investor: This investment strategy allows investments in the project portfolio. Profit-sharing plans, investment rollovers, and the portfolio system enjoy collective ownership: So long as the investor agrees on this option, we need not concern ourselves with the recognition of income or capital gains in the portfolio. You are only taxed at the time of distribution from the account.

Passive Investor: This portfolio will be managed with a primary focus on using Modern Portfolio Theory principles that allows invest within agreed period of time.

Modification

Rural Connect Limited may amend the terms of use at any time in its discretion, by sending revision notice to the Party/ parties.

Termination

Rural Connect Limited and/ or any of the Party can propose termination of agreement. When approved, steps for actions shall be taken.

Dispute Resolution

You agree that where a material dispute arises between you and Rural Connect Limited arising from the projects and/ or investment engage by Rural Connect, you shall first attempt to resolve the dispute by preparing and serving on the Company or its legal representatives, a memorandum or statement setting out your position on the issue concerning which there is a grievance and your reason for such grievance. Such issue shall first be attempted to be resolved by negotiation. However, where that fails, the legal representatives shall take such issues to mediation for resolution. Where the issue remains unresolved for sixty (60) days after notice of dispute has been served from one party to the other, the dispute shall be referred to Arbitration in accordance with the Arbitration and Conciliation Act of Nigeria.

Whenever a dispute arises between you and Rural Connect requiring arbitration, you shall jointly appoint an Arbitrator to preside over the dispute. Such appointment is proposed to be unanimous, but, where unanimity cannot be achieved within seven (7) days after the arbitration has been demanded, an independent Arbitrator shall be appointed by the Chief Judge of the Federal High Court of Nigeria at the request of the parties. The venue for the arbitration shall be Nigeria and the award of the Arbitrator (including the decisions regarding payment of the Arbitrator’s fee and other expenses) shall be final and binding on the parties, subject to available rights of appeal preserved under the Arbitration and Conciliation Act of Nigeria and/or any other applicable law(s).
